I had a mixed experience at Bears Town in Pocheon. While the proximity to the ski slopes was great and the ski rental discounts were a plus, the shortcomings in service and room cleanliness took away from the overall enjoyment. It seems that communication can be a barrier for non-Korean speakers, making it less suitable for international tourists.

The Korean-Style Deluxe Ondol Room I stayed in was spacious with a nice kitchenette, but the weird smell and thin futons were disappointing. The room also lacked sufficient charging points, which was inconvenient.
Service

The reception staff struggled with English, which made check-in and getting information quite tricky. Housekeeping was lacking as they only exchanged towels without emptying the rubbish bins.
Location

Bears Town is ideally located right next to the ski slopes, making it super convenient for winter sports enthusiasts. The ski experience, although expensive, was worthwhile for beginners.
Dining
5.5
Breakfast options were quite basic with no fruits, offering just kimchi, soup, salad, cereals, and toast. However, I appreciated the high quality of the breakfast food.
Facilities

The facilities included a convenience store and fun karaoke rooms, which added some entertainment value during my stay. The small animal farm nearby was a charming touch for families with kids.

My stay at Bears Town was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, right next to the ski slopes, making it super convenient for skiing. However, there were several downsides, such as the room having a strange smell when we first arrived and the cleanliness of the bathrooms could definitely be improved.

My stay at Bears Town was a mix of positives and negatives. The skiing experience nearby was enjoyable, and I appreciated the quality of the breakfast offered. However, the room conditions were disappointing, with issues in maintenance and cleanliness that were hard to overlook.

My stay at Bears Town was a mixed bag. The location was great since it was super close to the ski slopes, but the room had several issues that really put a damper on my experience. While the breakfast had some high-quality food, the overall service and room maintenance left a lot to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
The room I had was quite run down, with a broken shower and damaged lights, which was disappointing for the price I paid. The air conditioning wasn't functioning because it was off-season, leaving the room too hot. Plus, the toilet was clogged right before check-out. Not ideal!
Service

I found the service average at best. Reception staff struggled with English, which made it hard to get information or help. Housekeeping's attention to detail was lacking since they only exchanged towels without cleaning the bins.

Can’t complain about the location! It’s right next to the slopes, so accessing the ski area was super convenient. Perfect for hitting the slopes without any hassle.

I had a mixed experience at Bears Town. The location was super convenient for hitting the slopes, but the overall quality didn't quite live up to the price I paid. The room I got was different from what I expected, and some amenities were lacking, like proper ventilation and cleanliness.

My Korean-Style Standard Ondol Room felt a bit off. It had a weird smell when I entered, and the futons were thinner than I'd hoped. I also missed having enough charging points. It was a decent size, but overall not what I envisioned for the price.
Service

I found the service a bit lacking. The staff at reception struggled with English, which made getting around challenging. I also felt housekeeping could have done more than just swapping out towels.
Location
9.0
On the bright side, the location was right next to the ski slopes, which made it super easy to get out and enjoy the snow. Plus, a convenience store was nearby, which was a nice touch.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were pretty limited. Breakfast was simple with just some cereal, toast, and kimchi – no fruits at all. Honestly, I needed to find a good meal elsewhere.
Facilities
6.5
The karaoke room was a fun highlight for me, and the ski rental discount was a nice perk, but overall the facilities felt a bit dated and some areas were overheated.
